Website terms
Last updated: 18 August 2026
These Website Terms govern your use of the On The Playlist website and its online features.
The website is operated by SYNC-QUEST LTD (Company No. 15923335), trading as On The Playlist (“OTP”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
These Website Terms are separate from our Booking Terms. If you make a booking with OTP, your booking is also governed by the Booking Terms provided to you as part of the booking process.
1. Using our website
You may use this website to browse our services, make enquiries, access authorised event-planning features, submit music preferences and use other functionality we make available.
You must not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to another person’s account, event, playlist or information;
- interfere with the operation or security of the website;
- introduce malware or other harmful material;
- use automated systems to scrape, copy or misuse the website or its content;
- impersonate another person;
- submit content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, discriminatory, obscene or otherwise inappropriate; or
- use the website for fraudulent or unlawful purposes.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect customers, guests, DJs, our systems or the security and proper operation of the service.
2. Accounts and event links
Some OTP features may require an account, private event link or other access method.
- You are responsible for keeping your login details and private event links secure.
- You must not deliberately give access to an OTP customer account to someone who is not authorised to use it.
- If you believe an account or private event link has been compromised, please contact hello@ontheplaylist.co.uk.
3. Get On The Playlist
Get On The Playlist is an event music-planning feature designed to help customers, guests and DJs collaborate on the musical direction of an event.
- Customers may be able to identify music preferences, Must Plays and Do Not Plays.
- Guests may be invited to submit Guest Picks through an event link.
- Guest Picks are suggestions only. They are not guaranteed to be played.
- The DJ retains professional discretion over the timing, sequencing and selection of music during the event, while taking account of the customer’s agreed music brief, Must Plays and Do Not Plays.
- The availability of a track may depend on matters outside OTP’s reasonable control, including availability through the DJ’s legitimate music sources, venue restrictions, technical issues and event circumstances.
4. Guest submissions
- If you submit a song suggestion or other information through an event link, you confirm that your submission is genuine and relates to the relevant event.
- Do not use Guest Picks or other website features to submit offensive messages, advertising, malicious links or unrelated material.
- We may remove or disregard inappropriate, abusive, misleading or irrelevant submissions.
- Submitting a track does not create a contractual right for that track to be played.
5. DJ applications
- DJs may be able to apply to join the On The Playlist supplier network through this website.
- Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance, work or any minimum number of bookings.
- We may review applications and request further information before deciding whether to approve a DJ.
- Approved DJs operate subject to a separate DJ Supplier Agreement and individual Booking Confirmations.
6. Enquiries and availability
- Information displayed on this website does not guarantee that a particular DJ, date, service or additional performer is available.
- An enquiry does not create a booking.
- A booking becomes binding only in accordance with the Booking Terms and the booking confirmation/process provided to the customer.
- Prices, packages and examples displayed on the website may change. The price applicable to a confirmed booking will be the price agreed through the relevant quotation or Booking Confirmation, subject to the Booking Terms.
7. Website content
- The On The Playlist name, branding, logos, website design, written content, graphics and other materials created by or for OTP belong to SYNC-QUEST LTD or are used with permission from their respective owners.
- You may use the website for your personal, non-commercial use.
- You must not copy, reproduce, republish, sell, distribute or commercially exploit OTP content or branding without our permission, except where the law permits you to do so.
- Third-party names, trademarks, album artwork and other intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners.
8. Third-party services and links
- Our website may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites and services.
- Those services are operated independently from OTP and may have their own terms and privacy policies.
- Unless we expressly state otherwise, a link or integration does not mean that OTP controls or endorses everything provided by that third party.
- We are not responsible for the availability or operation of third-party services outside our reasonable control.
9. Availability of the website
- We aim to keep the website and Get On The Playlist features available and functioning properly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
- We may occasionally suspend, update or change parts of the website for maintenance, security, technical or operational reasons.
- Where reasonably possible, we will seek to minimise disruption to active event-planning features.
10. Privacy and cookies
- Our Privacy Notice explains how we collect and use personal information.
- Our Cookie Notice explains the cookies and similar technologies used on this website.
- Where consent is required for non-essential cookies or similar technologies, those technologies will be managed through our cookie controls.
- Cookie consent should not simply be bundled into these Website Terms. The ICO’s April 2026 guidance says users must receive appropriate information and control over non-exempt storage/access technologies, and specifically says consent should not be obtained through general terms and conditions.
11. Liability
- Nothing in these Website Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or affects any statutory rights you may have as a consumer.
- We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Website Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
- We are not responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control or by your misuse of the website.
- Nothing on the general website should be treated as a guarantee about a particular booking unless it is expressly included in your quotation, Booking Confirmation or Booking Terms.
12. Changes to these terms
- We may update these Website Terms from time to time, for example where our website functionality, services or legal requirements change.
- The latest version will be published on this page with its effective date.
- Changes to these Website Terms will not retrospectively change the contractual terms of an already confirmed event booking.
13. Governing law
- These Website Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
- If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory rights you have under applicable consumer law, including any rights concerning where proceedings may be brought.
