Cookie policy
Last updated: 18 August 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how SYNC-QUEST LTD, trading as On The Playlist (“OTP”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the On The Playlist website.
It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small pieces of information stored on your device when you visit a website.
We may also use similar technologies, including local storage, pixels, tags and scripts. UK privacy rules can apply to technologies that store information on, or access information from, a user's device even where they are not technically cookies.
We use these technologies only where necessary to operate our website or where otherwise permitted by law or appropriately authorised by you.
2. Essential technologies
Some storage and access technologies are necessary for the website and services you request to work.
These may include technologies used for:
- customer and DJ login sessions;
- authentication and account security;
- maintaining secure access to event-planning areas;
- remembering necessary service or privacy settings;
- fraud and security protection; and
- recording whether a guest has already submitted a track to an event where this is necessary to operate that feature as requested.
These technologies do not require consent where they fall within an applicable legal exception, such as where they are strictly necessary to provide a service requested by the user.
3. Analytics
We may use analytics technologies to understand how people use our website, such as:
- pages visited;
- website traffic;
- interactions with pages;
- device and browser types;
- how visitors reached our website; and
- actions such as submitting an enquiry.
Where analytics meet the requirements of the statistical purposes exception, consent may not be required. To rely on that exception, the purpose must be limited to statistical information used to improve the website/service, resulting information must be appropriately aggregated, and users must be given clear information and a simple, free way to object.
Where our analytics use does not satisfy an applicable exception, we will obtain consent before using the relevant technology.
We may use services such as Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager once configured. The exact technologies used will be reflected in our cookie controls and this policy.
4. Advertising and conversion tracking
We may choose to use advertising and conversion-measurement technologies, including services such as Meta Pixel or Google Ads conversion tracking.
These technologies may help us understand whether advertising resulted in visits, enquiries or bookings and may enable advertising providers to process information about website activity.
Advertising technologies will not be activated before the required consent has been obtained.
The ICO's current guidance makes clear that the statistical analytics exception does not extend to online advertising, and most commercially viable online advertising using storage/access technologies currently requires consent.
If these services are activated, our consent controls and this Cookie Policy will identify the relevant third parties and explain their purposes.
5. Your choices
When required, our cookie controls allow you to choose whether non-essential technologies are used.
Where applicable, you will be able to:
- Accept optional technologies;
- Reject optional technologies; and
- Manage preferences by category.
Rejecting optional technologies will not prevent you from accessing the core website or making an enquiry.
Where we rely on an exception that requires us to provide an objection mechanism, we will provide a simple and free way to object.
You can change or withdraw your choices through on our website (also linked in the footer of every page).
You can also manage cookies through your browser, although disabling certain essential technologies may affect website functionality.
6. Third parties
Some optional technologies may be provided by third parties.
Where consent is required, we will provide clear information about the relevant third parties and purposes before obtaining that consent.
The ICO's current guidance specifically says that valid consent mechanisms must give users control over non-exempt technologies and identify relevant third parties.
Third parties may process information in accordance with their own privacy information as well as the arrangements we have with them.
7. Technologies currently in use
The exact technologies used by the website may change as the On The Playlist platform develops.
| Provider | Technology / name | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| On The Playlist | Login session storage | Keeps client, DJ and admin accounts signed in securely | Strictly necessary | Session / until sign-out |
| On The Playlist | otp.consent.v1 (local storage) | Remembers your cookie choices | Strictly necessary | Until cleared or choices change |
| On The Playlist | Guest submission marker (local storage) | Records that a guest has already added a track to an event playlist | Strictly necessary | Until cleared |
No analytics or advertising technologies are currently active on this website. Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel and Google Ads conversion tracking are not loaded. If we activate any of them, they will only load after you consent to the relevant category, and this table will be updated with the provider, technology name, purpose, category and duration.
Before launch, and whenever we introduce a new analytics, advertising or tracking technology, we will assess:
- what the technology stores or accesses;
- its purpose;
- who provides it;
- how long it operates;
- whether an exemption applies; and
- whether consent is required.
Our cookie controls should reflect the technologies actually active on the website.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our website, technology providers or legal requirements change.
The latest version will always be published on this page with its last-updated date.
Where appropriate, we may ask you to make a new choice if our use of optional technologies changes materially.
